2. Biography
Alphonso Davies was born on November 2, 2000, is a professional Canadian football player, playing as a defender. He currently plays for the Bundesliga club Bayern Munich and is also a member of the Canadian national team.
When Alphonso Davies was 5 years old, his family was accepted to immigrate to Canada and their lives started with brighter signs. Alphonso Davies ‘parents got a job, and he went to school like any other child and here Alphonso Davies’ passion for football has blossomed.
3. Club career
Starting a career
Alphonso Davies started his football career when he was accepted into the training room of the Saint Nicholas club. Shortly after training here, Alphonso Davies was transferred to the Edmonton Strikers Club – a team for talented youths who want to pursue professional football.
Four years later, Alphonso Davies was accepted to the youth academy of Vancouver Whitecaps FC. At 15, Alphonso Davies entered the history of the Canadian league as the youngest player to make his official debut.
Bayern Munich
From the start of January 2019, Alphonso Davies was only 18 years old. German club Bayern Munich spent $ 11 million to recruit young Canadian youngsters from Vancouver Whitecaps FC. This has been a record transfer amount for a player under the age of 20 playings in the US Professional League – MLS.
